Position Overview:

We are seeking a diligent and innovative Facilities Engineer to join our R&D Test Lab team in Anoka. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of our advanced testing equipment, including thermal, pressure, mechanical, and electro-mechanical systems. Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the maintenance and reliability of R&D engineering test lab equipment to ensure long-term operational readiness.
• Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs aimed at reducing unplanned downtime and enhancing equipment availability.
• Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of maintenance, repair, upgrade, installation, and commissioning projects for both existing and new test facilities.
• Resolve intricate issues related to industrial refrigeration systems, controls, sensors, electrical power, and mechanical components.
• Lead and document calibration activities for lab equipment, ensuring compliance with NIST standards and supporting ISO 17025 and UL certification requirements.
• Collaborate with R&D engineers to support test execution and contribute to equipment design, lab infrastructure, and test cell layout.
• Implement and support controls, LabVIEW-based test software, and data acquisition systems for operating and calibrating lab equipment.

Qualifications:

• An Associate's degree, 2-year technical degree, or equivalent education in Engineering, Engineering Technology, HVAC/R, or a related technical field.
• Ideally 3-5 years of hands-on experience with electromechanical systems in an R&D lab, test environment, commercial/industrial facility, or manufacturing setting.
• Proven ability to manage planned and condition-based maintenance in critical environments.
• Experience with industrial refrigeration or thermal systems, including integrated heating, cooling, and compressor-based systems.
• Basic knowledge of electrical controls, PLCs, and sensors, with a clear understanding of their interaction within automated equipment.
• Strong diagnostic skills and engineering judgment for interpreting equipment documentation, schematics, and drawings.
• Experience with controls software and LabVIEW-based test environments is advantageous.
• Physical ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. and stand or sit for extended periods.
• EPA 608 certification is required, or willingness to obtain it within three months of the start date (company sponsored).
