Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities: Perform comprehensive and accurate patient assessments across all stages of growth and development from Pediatric to Geriatric populations Deliver direct patient care and support overall patient care delivery within a collaborative team environment Demonstrate strong clinical competency and knowledge of emergency equipment and procedures Maintain complete and accurate patient documentation, including nursing process documentation and patient education Provide professional, compassionate, and patient-centered care while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality standards Follow National Patient Safety Goals, Universal Protocol, and proper patient identification procedures Utilize safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics for patient and staff safety Assess and educate patients and families regarding procedures, treatment plans, and postoperative care Prioritize patient care responsibilities based on changing patient conditions and unit needs Support perioperative and pre-admission testing processes, including review of patient testing orders for completeness and appropriateness Demonstrate knowledge of surgical procedures, anesthesia care, and recovery processes across the continuum of care
