Job Description GTRI’s Cooperative Education (“co‑op”) program offers you extensive opportunities to participate in diverse scientific and technological endeavors, use state‑of‑the‑art equipment and rapidly improve your technical and leadership skills. The program allows you to alternate three semesters of full‑time work at GTRI with semesters of full‑time school. Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) is seeking a Student Co‑Op for its Sensors and Electromagnetic Applications Laboratory (SEAL) for Fall 2026. The intern will be responsible for assisting with logistics in the procurement and receiving process, identifying areas of inefficiency, assisting with logistics of inventory management, managing Bills of Materials by utilizing database tools, and performing physical inventory audits. This may include coordinating with vendors, suppliers, and engineers, as well as other elements of the parts handling process. This position allows for the opportunity to gain experience with work orders, kitting, and quality assurance, as well as develop and implement processes across the program, lab, and potentially the organization. This position will require someone with exceptional problem solving, organizational, communication, and customer service skills. This position will require in person attendance at the Cobb County Research Facility (CCRF), as well as the ability to handle/lift and deliver parts. Required Minimum Qualifications Co‑op Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering/STEM, business, or related fields 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA Must be eligible to be approved by your college/university to participate in a co‑op program and register for co‑op credit with your university during work terms Must be able to complete at least three full‑time co‑op terms (alternating three terms of full‑time work at GTRI with semesters of full‑time school) prior to graduation Ability to come in to CCRF in person Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Strong attention to detail, problem solving, and organizational skills Ability to clearly communicate with suppliers, vendors, and engineers Ability to handle/lift and deliver parts Preferred Qualifications Customer Service Experience Experience with Inventory Management Systems Experience with Warehouse Management Systems Hours per Week 40 hours per week U.S. Citizenship Requirements Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens. Clearance Type Required Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance. Housing and Relocation Housing and relocation assistance are not available for this position.
