About this RoleAbout this RoleWells Fargo is seeking a Lead Information Security Engineer to join the DLP Data Integration and Automation Team within Cybersecurity Defense. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and automating data protection controls that ensure sensitive information is appropriately identified, classified, and protected across the enterprise.The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in Data Loss Prevention (DLP), cybersecurity engineering, Python and Bash scripting, data integration, and enterprise security automation. This individual will lead efforts to onboard and maintain critical data sources—including HR, customer, financial, and regulatory data—into DLP platforms to support data protection and regulatory compliance objectives.In This Role, You WillLead the design, implementation, and support of highly complex Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and data protection solutions.Provide advanced application support for enterprise DLP platforms, including troubleshooting, configuration management, data onboarding, and operational support activities.Support and maintain integrations between DLP platforms and upstream/downstream data sources to ensure accurate and reliable data classification and protection capabilities.Design and maintain automated workflows that prepare, transform, and integrate sensitive data sources for enterprise DLP platforms.Ensure DLP systems are receiving accurate and current data feeds, including HR, customer, PII, and other sensitive data classifications.Provide cybersecurity consulting and technical guidance to business and technology partners to ensure compliance with enterprise security policies and standards.Design, document, test, implement, and support security solutions across network, endpoint, cloud, application, and data protection domains.Perform root-cause analysis, technical troubleshooting, and resolution of complex security and integration issues.Conduct security risk assessments and recommend remediation strategies for identified vulnerabilities.Evaluate emerging technologies, perform proof-of-concept testing, and develop implementation plans for enterprise deployment.Collaborate with engineers, architects, application teams, infrastructure partners, and security stakeholders across the organization.Lead, mentor, and provide technical direction to junior engineers and other team members.Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, operational efficiency, and security effectiveness.Demonstrate proficiency in using AI‑assisted development and analysis tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot and approved code‑centric agents)Leverage AI to accelerate system design, coding, testing, analysis, and troubleshootingApply strong technical judgment when validating and integrating AI‑assisted outputs into solutionsUnderstand and account for model limitations, security risks, and operational considerationsApply AI responsibly in development and production environmentsEnsure AI usage aligns with security, compliance, privacy, and ethical standardsRequired Qualifications5+ years of Information Security Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, educationDesired Qualifications:5+ years of experience troubleshooting in complex technical environments4+ years of experience supporting data transmission solutions (i.e. email messaging, web proxy, firewall, etc.) in a large enterprise4+ years of experience leading and directing the activities of technical staff2+ years of experience with DLP and other Data Protection solutions.2+ year of experience working with SQL queries for application support, troubleshooting, reporting, or analysis.2+ year of experience supporting application integrations using APIs, web services, or data exchange technologies.2+ year of experience supporting MS SQL and/or Oracle databases, including data validation, application connectivity, and operational support.Experience supporting applications in Linux and Windows server environments.Experience using scripting tools such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python to support administration, troubleshooting, monitoring, and operational tasks.Experience performing technical product assessments, including development of implementation plans, in a large enterpriseExperience securing cloud data storage or transmission solutionsExperience mentoring/guiding less experienced staffStrong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracyAdvanced critical thinking, problem solving and technical troubleshooting abilitiesSecurity certifications such as CISSP, GIAC or equivalentJob ExpectationsAbility to work a hybrid schedule – 3 days per week on-site/in office and 2 days per week remoteAbility to participate in an on-call rotationThis position is not eligible for Visa sponsorshipLocations:300 South Brevard, Charlotte, NC2600 S Price Rd, Chandler, Arizona401 Las Colinas Blvd. W, Irving, TXPosting End Date: 22 Sep 2026*Job posting may come down early due to volume of applicants.We Value Equal OpportunityWells Fargo is an equal opportunity employer.
