Position: Senior Personal Injury Attorney / Trial Attorney

Employment Type: Full-Time

3-5 years of experience or 5-35 years of experience

SALARY: $250,000-$350,000 (Higher salaries available with Portable Book of Business

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a seasoned plaintiff-side personal injury attorney to join its

litigation team.

This is an opportunity for an experienced attorney who is already comfortable handling

significant personal injury cases and wants to work within a highly respectedplaintiff-side practice with substantial resources, sophisticated cases, and a strong

trial-oriented culture.

The ideal candidate is not simply a case manager or settlement attorney. We are

looking for an attorney who understands how to build a case from the initial

investigation through litigation and, when necessary, trial , and who is confident

dealing with sophisticated insurance carriers, defense counsel, corporations, experts,

and opposing parties.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a substantial caseload of plaintiff-side personal injury matters from

inception through resolution.

Conduct comprehensive case evaluations and determine liability, damages,

causation, and litigation strategy.

Investigate complex accident and injury claims, including obtaining records,

photographs, videos, witness statements, reports, and other evidence.

Develop liability theories and identify all potentially responsible parties.

Handle serious and catastrophic injury matters involving substantial economic

and non-economic damages.

Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery demands, interrogatories, requests for

production, and other litigation documents.

Take and defend depositions of plaintiffs, defendants, witnesses, corporate

representatives, medical providers, experts, and other relevant parties.

Analyze medical records and work with medical and other expert witnesses to

establish causation, permanency, future medical needs, and damages.

Work with accident reconstructionists, engineers, economists, life-care planners,

vocational experts, medical experts, and other specialists when appropriate.

Conduct settlement negotiations with insurance carriers and defense counsel.

Prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, settlement conferences, and trial.

Develop persuasive case narratives and demonstrative evidence.

Participate in trial preparation, including witness preparation, exhibits, motions in

limine, jury selection, opening statements, direct and cross-examination, and

closing arguments.

Maintain regular and professional communication with clients and their families

throughout the litigation process.

Work collaboratively with partners, associates, paralegals, investigators, experts,

and other members of the litigation team.

Exercise sound independent judgment while knowing when to collaborate with

senior attorneys on complex strategic decisions.

Maintain detailed case files, deadlines, budgets, and litigation calendars.●

Uphold the firm's commitment to aggressive advocacy, ethical representation,

professionalism, and client service.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

8+ years of substantial plaintiff-side personal injury litigation experience ,

preferably more.

Significant experience handling complex personal injury cases.

Demonstrated experience taking cases from intake/investigation through litigation

and resolution.

Strong deposition experience.

Strong knowledge of New Jersey and/or New York personal injury law and civil

procedure.

Experience handling serious or catastrophic injury cases.

Experience negotiating significant settlements with insurance companies and

defense counsel.

Meaningful trial experience is strongly preferred .

Experience with trucking, construction, motor-vehicle, premises liability, wrongful

death, or other complex tort litigation is highly desirable.

Strong legal research, writing, analytical, negotiation, and courtroom skills.

Excellent client communication and interpersonal skills.

The ability to independently manage cases while functioning effectively within a

larger litigation team.

A strong plaintiff-side mindset and genuine commitment to advocating for injured

individuals and families.

Qualifications

Required:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Admission to practice law in New Jersey and/or New York.

3+ years of plaintiff-side personal injury litigation experience.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex litigation matters.

Preferred:

10+ years of plaintiff-side personal injury experience.

Significant deposition experience.

Significant trial experience.

Experience handling catastrophic injury and/or wrongful death cases.

Experience with trucking, construction, or other complex tort litigation.

Established record of successful settlements and/or verdicts.
