Position Overview

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with an established professional services organization in Fort Worth seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join its accounting team.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong experience in cash applications, payment processing, account reconciliations, and accounts receivable management. The role will also support billing activities, aging reports, and light collections while working closely with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely payment processing.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and accurately apply incoming customer payments, including ACH, checks, wires, and credit card transactions.
• Research and resolve payment discrepancies, unapplied cash, and account variances.
• Prepare and record deposits, ensuring accurate documentation and reconciliation.
• Monitor accounts receivable balances and maintain accurate customer account records.
• Review AR aging reports and follow up on past-due balances.
• Assist with light collections activities, including communicating with customers regarding outstanding payments and payment arrangements.
• Support billing functions, invoice inquiries, account adjustments, and payment corrections.
• Monitor customer payment plans and ensure adherence to agreed-upon terms.
• Assist with monthly AR reporting, reconciliations, and other accounting-related projects.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve billing and payment issues.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in accounts receivable, cash applications, or a related accounting function.
• Experience in a professional services environment preferred.
• Strong background in payment processing, cash posting, and account reconciliations.
• Experience reviewing AR aging reports and following up on outstanding balances.
• Working knowledge of billing processes and customer account management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize responsibilities, and collaborate with a team.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred but not required.
