About the Position

Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: State RRT License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: Trauma experience required, pulmonary function testing preferred Description: Minimum experience of 1 year is required. First-time travelers are accepted. Patient population includes infants to geriatrics, primarily adults, but may work with pediatric intubated patients. The facility is a level 2 trauma center and interventional stroke certified. It also has a level 3 NICU, which serves as the regional transport resource. Responsibilities include managing non-invasive ventilation, conventional ventilation, aerosol therapy, bedside pulmonary function tests, performing arterial lines, and oxygen management. Patient education and the performance of arterial blood gases and capillary blood gases are also required. Compliance with full requirements is needed to start on time. Work with additional equipment includes Viasys Vela, GE Carescape, and Viaysis Avea. Weekends are typically required every other weekend unless specified otherwise. Floating within the facility may be necessary as needed. If one major holiday falls during the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall during the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both holidays. If three major holidays fall during the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays. Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.
