Job Title: Material Handler

Job Description

Operates tow motors and forklifts to move materials throughout the facility, packages finished products for shipment, builds shipping crates using hand and power tools, and ensures all materials are prepared, documented, and staged safely and accurately for transport. This role also supports inventory activities and maintains a clean, organized shipping area while following all safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate tow motors and forklifts to move materials safely and efficiently throughout the facility.
• Handle finished products and package them securely for shipment according to established standards.
• Build shipping crates using hand and power tools, including pneumatic nail guns and staple guns, to protect products during transport.
• Utilize overhead cranes and perform basic rigging of equipment to ensure stability and safety during lifting and transport.
• Band crates and secure loads to meet shipping and safety requirements.
• Use computers and Excel to complete shipping documentation, track materials, and maintain accurate records.
• Follow all applicable safety policies, procedures, and guidelines while working in the shipping and receiving area.
• Keep the shipping area clean, organized, and free of debris to support safe and efficient operations.
• Assist with inventory management tasks, including inventory counts and basic inventory tracking.
• Perform additional duties such as general clean-up of work areas and supporting other material handling activities as needed.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 2 years of experience in shipping and receiving or operating forklifts and tow motors.
• Proven experience operating forklifts and tow motors in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
• Experience with overhead cranes and basic rigging to safely move and secure equipment.
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand and power tools, including pneumatic nail guns and staple guns.
• Proficiency using computers with familiarity in Excel for documentation and basic data entry.
• Ability to follow detailed safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Capability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, moving, and securing materials and crates.
• Willingness to work up to 10 hours of overtime when business needs require.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Canton, OH.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Canton,OH.
