Receiver Position

We are looking for a Receiver to join our team!

The schedule will be Mon-Fri 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

This position receives mill deliveries and receipt of outside processing work orders. As the Receiver you will unload mill trucks, handle outside processing orders and receive all this material into the SSA inventory control system within our quality inspection process.

• Receive incoming metal shipments from steel mills and outside processing vendors.
• Unload trucks and shipping containers using a forklift.
• Inspect incoming materials for damage, correct dimensions, and quality.
• Verify mill test reports (documents that certify the material meets required specifications).
• Enter shipment information into the company's inventory management system.
• Measure materials accurately using calipers and tape measures.
• Complete receiving paperwork, including first article inspections.
• Manage warehouse inventory and keep materials organized.
• Update work orders with the correct production status.
• Work with Quality and Operations teams to report and resolve any material issues.
• Prioritize work to meet production schedules.

Required Skills

• Forklift experience (often certification is preferred).
• Experience unloading flatbed trucks and containers.
• Basic computer and data entry skills.
• Ability to read and understand material test reports.
• Experience using measuring tools such as calipers and tape measures.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• High School diploma or equivalent industry work experience.
• Good mathematical skills and spatial recognition.
• Self-motivated and can act on own initiative.
• Experience working to targets and deadlines.
• Can quickly learn in complex industry.
• Adaptable and have a positive attitude towards change.
• Motivated, communicative and goal oriented.
