Job Title: Cloud Operations Engineer

Rate: $60.00 – $65.00 / hour W2 (Temp-to-Hire)

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Cloud Engineer seeking a path toward a permanent career in Phoenix, AZ. In this role, you will lead the orchestration, deployment, and operational support of scalable AWS cloud infrastructure, leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC), DevOps workflows, and modern AI-assisted engineering tools. Here’s what you’ll be doing:

• Orchestrating and automating enterprise AWS cloud platforms using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), scripting languages, and Source Control Management (SCM) tools
• Deploying, configuring, and maintaining IaaS and PaaS systems across public cloud environments
• Partnering with enterprise architects to gather technical requirements and deliver secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions following best practices
• Monitoring, auditing, and debugging complex technical issues across virtualized, containerized, and microservices application stacks
• Implementing enterprise security guidelines, establishing cloud cost optimization protocols, and drafting technical operational documentation

Here’s what our ideal candidate has:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Cloud Engineer, with expertise building and administering enterprise AWS cloud infrastructure
• Strong systems administration proficiency across both Microsoft Windows Server and Linux Server operating systems in virtualized environments
• 3–5+ years of experience automating operational workflows using PowerShell, Python, Bash, JSON, or CLI tools, alongside Git/SCM and IaC tools
• Proven experience leveraging modern AI tools and LLMs to accelerate scripting, debug infrastructure challenges, and optimize operational routines
• Ability to work onsite in Phoenix, AZ on day one, followed by a hybrid work schedule (in-office once per month or as needed for business requirements)
• Eligibility to work for any employer without sponsorship and a genuine commitment to converting into a full time, permanent role

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active cloud vendor certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer)
• Proven track record in cloud cost optimization, automated systems monitoring, and multi-cloud administration (e.g., AWS and Azure)
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline
