Pharmacy Technician I

Answer inbound calls from patients, prescribers, and other healthcare professionals Contact doctors to obtain necessary prescription information to properly fill prescriptions Manage queues and work oldest orders first Ensure correct shipment of specialty pharmacy orders Assist pharmacists in obtaining information for dispensing and adjudicating medications correctly Translate prescription and dispensing information accurately into pharmacy dispensing software Select medications, attach prescription labels, and ensure prescription information is packaged before pharmacist final check Obtain and verify patient demographics, allergies, medication history, comorbidities, and payer information Maintain adequate pharmaceutical inventory, including ordering, receiving, verifying orders, and stocking pharmaceuticals and supplies Assist other facility areas with technician duties as needed Act in accordance with applicable federal and state laws and ethical standards Requirements High school diploma or GED or equivalent preferred National CPhT and/or registration/licensure required per employee’s residing state’s requirements Minimum two years pharmacy support experience or healthcare environment experience preferred Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives Ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees M-F 8am to 6pm work schedule Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in pharmacy support, including prescription processing, medication selection, and inventory management while adhering to compliance and ethical standards. Proficient in utilizing pharmacy dispensing software and maintaining accurate patient information.
