Success Academy seeks a high-impact Campus Safety & Security Manager to lead daily safety operations at our flagship Bronx K-12 Campus. This first-of-its-kind, integrated learning environment is a national model for educational excellence, requiring a manager who can balance rigorous security with a welcoming school culture. You will ensure a secure, high-standard environment for all scholars, staff, and visitors. This role oversees physical security, emergency preparedness, contracted personnel, and safety technology across a complex K-12 campus. Partnering with school leadership and network security teams, you will foster a proactive safety culture rooted in operational excellence.

Specific responsibilities include:

Campus Safety & Security Management

• Lead all campus safety functions, including physical security, emergency readiness, incident response, and traffic safety.

• Build a shared culture of safety while maintaining clear personal accountability for all campus systems.

Safety & Security Operations

• Day-to-day oversight of campus safety and security during and after school hours.

• Physical Security: Optimize the campus security ecosystem (CCTV, access control, intrusion detection and alerting, visitor management) through rigorous monitoring, testing, and continuous improvement.

• Emergency Preparedness: Manage response protocols, drills, and team training to ensure 100% readiness for any scenario.

• Incident Management: Serve as Campus Incident Commander, leading response, communication, and post-incident analysis to drive corrective actions.

• Traffic Safety: Direct arrival/dismissal operations and coordination with crossing guards to ensure safe scholar transit.

• Vendor Management: Supervise contracted security personnel, ensuring performance exceeds contract requirements and aligns with Success Academy standards.

Safety & Security School-based Training

• Collaborate with school operations to deliver impactful safety training for staff, scholars, and families.

• Use data to identify training gaps and ensure all programs remain relevant and effective.

• Evaluate training outcomes to ensure measurable improvements in campus safety literacy.

Continuous Improvement of Safety & Security Operations

• Analyze metrics across incident trends, drill performance, and technology reliability to drive data-informed decisions.

• Develop and implement campus safety continuous improvements.

The Bronx K-12 Campus Safety & Security Manager is someone with …

• A bachelor’s degree and 5–8+ years leading security, emergency management, campus operations, or public safety in a complex environment

• Experience supervising contracted security personnel

• Demonstrated success leading emergency preparedness and incident response

• Experience managing security technology systems, including access control and surveillance

• Strong project management and operational leadership skills

• Excellent judgment under pressure

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to build strong partnerships across diverse stakeholder groups

Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience. This position is not bonus eligible.

Compensation Range

$130,000—$150,000 USD
