Details Work in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Stepdown/IMC setting Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including CHF, chest pain, COPD, AFib with RVR, and arrhythmias Patient ratio of 1:4-5 Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:30 Float required to other units as needed Weekend coverage required every 3rd weekend, totaling 5 weekend shifts per contract Uses Pyxis medication dispensing system Utilizes SBAR communication method Requirements Active IL RN license required Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience required Experience with cardiac telemetry monitoring and management of dysrhythmias Skilled in use of rapid response/code teams Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization care and sheath removal Proficient in central line, peripheral line, and PICC line care and management Skilled in starting and maintaining IVs Experience with heparin protocols and managing cardiac drips (no titration required) Experience with PCA management Skilled in chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-Evac) Proficient in BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) management Experience with tracheostomy care and non-invasive airway management Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use Experience with wound care and wound vac management Skilled in feeding tube care and management Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care Experience accessing and managing ports and blood product administration At least one supervisor reference required for consideration Additional Information Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and management of patients with cardiovascular and respiratory conditions Navy blue scrubs required First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate American Traveler Job ID P-747972.
