Job Details Employment Type: Travel Nursing Setting: Cardiac Stepdown / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Telemetry Shift: Night shift, 12 hours Shifts Per Week: 3 Duration: 13 weeks Hours Per Week: 36 Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,890 - $1,990 Start Date: 09/21/2026 Location: Maryville, Illinois Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics Orientation: 18 hours Weekend Coverage: Every 3rd weekend, with 5 weekend shifts per contract Float: May be required Job Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission Minimum of 1 year of recent nursing experience required ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required Experience in cardiac stepdown, progressive care, telemetry, or PCU nursing preferred Strong skills in dysrhythmia management, cardiac monitoring, and rapid response support Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, central lines, PICC lines, and IV management Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment with patient ratios of 4-6 Self-scheduling experience preferred Responsibilities Provide high-quality patient care to adults and geriatrics with CHF, chest pain, COPD, AFib with RVR, and arrhythmias Monitor telemetry and cardiac rhythms, recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition Administer medications and therapies according to unit protocols, including heparin and cardiac drips without titration Support patients receiving BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC, oxygen therapy, and non-invasive airway management Assist with pre- and post-cardiac procedures, including cardiac cath and angiogram care Perform line care, sheath removal, feeding tube care, wound care, and isolation precautions as needed Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote safe, efficient, patient-centered care Utilize SBAR communication and the Pyxis medication system to support workflow and patient safety Apply now for this travel Registered Nurse job in Maryville, Illinois and join a skilled cardiac stepdown healthcare team today.
