RN Medical-Surgical Float

Job Summary:

The Level II Registered Nurse (RN) Med Surg Float is responsible for delivering competent nursing care in a medical-surgical setting with telemetry experience. This role involves providing patient care in accordance with established standards and may include expanded duties such as charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities. The RN will work rotating day, evening, and night shifts, supporting inpatient units with a focus on collaboration, clinical excellence, and professional development. Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in New York State only.
• Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience, including telemetry experience.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only.
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and patient care skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced inpatient medical-surgical environment.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience serving in charge nurse or preceptor roles.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems such as EPIC.
• Previous committee participation or involvement in professional nursing development.

Special Considerations:

• Rotating shifts including day, evening, and night shifts; no straight shifts available.
• Every other weekend work required.
• Holidays, on-call, and callback duties based on unit needs.
• Must be able to work in a telemetry medical-surgical inpatient setting.

Scheduling:

• Rotating schedule covering day, evening, and night shifts.
• Every other weekend work required.
• Shift assignments determined by unit staffing needs.
