About the Job:
The Cayuga Onondaga BOCES is now accepting applications for a Senior Clerk. This will be a provisional civil service appointment. Candidates will be required to take the civil service exam when it is scheduled in the future. The permanent appointment will be dependent upon the candidate's exam score.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma and 2 years of clerical experience; OR
- Three years of clerical experience in a business setting; OR
- Any combination of experience and training.
Responsibilities:
- Performs responsible clerical work of moderate to complex difficulty; does related work as required.
- This is moderately difficult and varied clerical work requiring a general understanding of specific law, office rules, procedures, and policies.
- It calls for the exercise of independent judgment in the application of prescribed procedures and methods to routine cases.
- For the most part work is performed under general supervision.
- Supervision may be exercised over the work of one or more supervisory staff.
- The incumbent does related work as required.
