Maintenance Technician Production Macon, GA, US 30+ days ago Requisition ID: 1285 Industrial Maintenance Technician Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment issues, and support production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role ensures equipment uptime, supports safe and efficient production, and contributes to continuous improvement efforts. Key Responsibilities Perform preventive maintenance , routine troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing equipment , including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and instrumentation systems. Diagnose equipment issues using problem‑solving techniques and collaborate with machine operators and maintenance team members to identify root causes. Work independently or as part of a team to complete equipment repairs, breakdown support, and maintenance projects. Provide timely updates to supervisors when issues require escalation or may impact repair timelines or equipment startup. Maintain a clean, organized parts room ; monitor inventory levels and coordinate part ordering with engineers and maintenance leadership. Follow company policies and safety procedures; maintain consistent attendance and support overtime, holiday, and plant shutdown schedules as needed. Communicate effectively with engineers, contractors, and cross‑functional departments; use Microsoft Excel and Word for reporting and documentation. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, diagrams, manuals, and engineering specifications to complete repairs and maintenance tasks. Utilize understanding of AC/DC electrical systems , manufacturing power distribution, and industrial controls to troubleshoot equipment. Complete work orders, logs, and administrative tasks accurately and in a timely manner. Safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, overhead cranes, and related industrial equipment. Perform additional maintenance and production‑support duties as assigned. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Ability to work in a 12‑hour rotating shift schedule , switching between day and night shift every 28 days. Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, squatting, climbing, gripping, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and working above or underneath equipment. Ability to lift and move 25–50 lbs regularly , and occasionally more than 50 lbs with assistance. Ability to work safely in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications Two‑year degree in Industrial Technology , Mechatronics , Industrial Maintenance , or related field. Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Experience with PLC troubleshooting/programming (Allen‑Bradley or Mitsubishi preferred). Experience with HVAC systems , industrial automation, or other advanced maintenance technologies is a plus. Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on repair skills.
