Lead Software Engineer / Lead Data Engineer (Hybrid position) Location: DFW - Hybrid at 3x per week in office Domain: Healthcare, Technology Contract to Hire: Starting at 6-months, 1-2 year total duration expected on contract. Potential for conversion to full-time employment/permanent thereafter Pay Rate: $75-85 W2 Must already have 2 years Lead / Team Mentorship experience and 8+ years as a hands-on Data Engineer & Application/Software Developer. C#/.Net, Azure, Spark and Databricks experience requiredOverviewLead an engineering team in building scalable, high-quality software solutions, including a Spend Management Intelligence Platform. Provide hands-on technical leadership, foster team growth, and drive engineering excellence. Partner with Product, Architecture, and Delivery teams to align technology with business goals while advancing AI, automation, and modern data platforms.ResponsibilitiesLead the architecture, design, and delivery of scalable, high-performance applicationsProvide technical guidance and drive sound engineering decisionsContribute to code and ensure quality through code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and security best practicesPartner with Product and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver solutionsPrioritize work, manage risks, and ensure timely executionMentor and develop engineers, promoting accountability and growthFoster collaboration, resolve challenges, and drive continuous improvementLead retrospectives and optimize engineering processesChampion AI, automation, and emerging technologiesDrive innovation in data platforms, pipelines, and analytics using technologies such as Databricks and SparkCommunicate progress, risks, and outcomes to stakeholdersCollaborate with Architecture, CloudOps, and Security teams to maintain alignmentQualifications8+ years of Software Development experience, including 2+ years in a Technical Leadership or Mentorship roleStrong knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing, and application securityProficiency in Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, or similar languagesExperience with AWS, Azure, or GCPProven ability to design and build scalable distributed systems and microservicesStrong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skillsExperience working in Agile environmentsData Engineering ExpertiseHands-on experience with Spark, Databricks, and large-scale data platformsExperience building and maintaining data pipelines and distributed data systemsKnowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and lakehouse architecturesExperience with streaming or real-time data processing preferredExposure to AI/ML and data-driven applications preferred#LI-KS1
