Our organization is currently looking for a Cardiovascular ICU Physician to become part of our growing cardiac surgery and critical care team at the Lankenau Heart Institute (LHI) , situated in the western suburbs of Philadelphia. This role is integral to our highly regarded, high-volume cardiothoracic surgical program, providing care in our 16-bed Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) , which specializes in advanced treatment for a wide range of adult cardiac surgery patients.

The CTICU is responsible for the care of patients undergoing intricate and minimally invasive procedures, including valve repairs, coronary bypass surgeries, aortic surgeries, robotic cardiac surgeries, and transcatheter interventions. Additionally, it supports a dynamic mechanical circulatory support program (ECMO and VAD) .

Clinical Care

• Deliver high-level care for post-operative cardiothoracic surgery patients in a multidisciplinary ICU environment.

• Exhibit strong clinical judgment while managing complex cardiac surgical cases.

• Provide 24/7 coverage as part of a collaborative team that includes surgeons, PAs, NPs, and critical care nurses.

• Oversee patients who require advanced mechanical circulatory support ( ECMO, VAD ).

Collaboration & Communication

• Collaborate closely with cardiac surgeons to ensure seamless care and optimal patient outcomes.

• Encourage effective teamwork and communication among surgical and critical care teams.

Education & Training

• Engage in teaching, training, and educational initiatives for students, residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers.

• Board Certified/Eligible in Critical Care .

• Possession of an active Pennsylvania medical license or eligibility for one.

• A strong clinical foundation in cardiothoracic critical care .

• A dedication to education, teamwork, and patient-centered care.

• LHI's cardiac surgery program is a high-volume, quaternary referral center recognized for its innovation and excellence in cardiothoracic care.

• Offers an extensive minimally invasive surgical program, including robotic CABG, mini-MV, and mini-SAVR .

• Expertise in catheter-based procedures such as TAVR, TMVR, and TEVAR .

• National leaders in international clinical trials featuring cutting-edge surgical and transcatheter technologies.

• Over 90% of isolated valve procedures are performed using minimally invasive techniques.

• Approximately 50% of CABG procedures are conducted robotically or through hybrid methods.

• Active participant in numerous transcatheter and open surgical investigational trials .
