Together, we’re improving health and improving lives.Labcorp is seeking a Surgical Pathologist/Cytopathologist to join our team in Birmingham, AL.Work Schedule: Generally (Monday-Friday 8am-5pm)Job ResponsibilitiesIndividual diagnostic evaluation and sign-out of surgical pathology and cytology cases, including a high volume of Gynecologic pathology specimens.Assure compliance with quality, regulatory, and safety guidelines/standardsAccurate and timely evaluation of specimens testedAssures good laboratory practice (GLP) and compliance with applicable accrediting and regulatory agenciesProvide expert consultation as needed with clients and staff, in person, by phone or electronicallyMinimum QualificationsMedical Degree from an accredited college/universityAL & GA Licensed PhysicianBoard Certification in Anatomic and Clinical PathologyEligible to obtain LA, MS, TN & FL state medical licensesAdditional Job StandardsExperience in a high-volume hospital and/or large referral laboratory environment preferredSubspecialty Board Certification in Cytopathology is highly desiredExperience in gynecologic pathology is highly desiredSubspecialty training in Surgical Pathology is highly desiredSubspecialty training or experience in ENT, Breast or Gastointestinal PathologyOrganized and efficient problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills requiredAt Labcorp we have a passion for helping people live happy and healthy lives.
