Senior Accountant – Client Accounting Services

Position Overview
The Senior Accountant plays a key role in supporting multiple client engagements and delivering high-quality accounting services. This position is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, preparing financial reports, and assisting clients with financial insights that support their business operations.

The ideal candidate will have strong accounting fundamentals, experience working with multiple clients or entities, and the ability to manage deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage accounting responsibilities across multiple client engagements
• Maintain and update general ledgers and ensure accurate financial records
• Prepare and post adjusting journal entries
• Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
• Analyze financial statements, including budget vs. actual comparisons and trend analysis
• Support cash flow forecasting and financial planning activities
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed
• Prepare 1099 filings and assist with audit requests when necessary
• Communicate with clients to gather financial information and respond to accounting inquiries
• Support process improvements and assist with special projects as needed

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience; 5+ years preferred
• Experience supporting multiple clients in a public accounting firm or outsourced/client accounting environment strongly preferred
• Experience with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online preferred
• Experience preparing financial statements and performing month-end close activities

Skills and Qualifications

• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines simultaneously
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with both internal staff and external clients
