Quality Technician

QA TechnicianThe QA Technician ensures product quality and monitors process deviations throughout the shift. Responsibilities include collecting production data, performing lab tests, and verifying that both processes and finished products meet established specifications.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Monitor and record product quality attributes (e.g., moisture, texture, size, count/lb, weight)Conduct process checks and record parametersIdentify and place out-of-specification products on hold, document quantitiesNotify the Manager on duty of held products and any deviationsPerform hourly surface starch tests on finished bagged productsEscalate significant deviations to the Corporate FSQR Manager promptlyWrite detailed shift reports and communicate findings to the next QA TechnicianTransport hourly retained samples to the lab, label them, and send to the warehouseMonitor QA/lab supplies and report shortages to the Corporate FSQR ManagerCheck metal detectors for proper calibration; record and report resultsImmediately report any contamination issuesInspect packaging hourly for correct codingVerify incoming raw ingredients against Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and specificationsMatch seal numbers on incoming railcars/trucks with Bills of Lading (BOLs)Conduct GMP inspections and internal audits as requestedPerform shift-specific QA duties assigned by the Corporate FSQR ManagerInspect retained samples during shutdowns for stickingMaintain cleanliness and organization of the labReplenish forms when supplies are lowKeep an updated copy of the product coding list and daily production scheduleProvide on-site QA support during plant operations, including weekendsQualifications:Education:Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent job experienceHigh School Diploma requiredExperience:Prior QA experience in the food industry is a plusEEO Employer
