Position Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) will autonomously deliver direct nursing care to patients and their families, adhering to established protocols, policies, and practices.

Work Location : Mother Infant Unit - Main Campus

Work Hours : 24 hours, part-time

Shift Timing : Nights from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

The Community RN Career Direct Care Pathway consists of four distinct levels based on the RN's experience, education, and qualifications.

• Level I - Less than 12 months of RN experience.
• Level II - 12 months to less than 3 years of RN experience.
• Level III - 3 years to less than 8 years of RN experience.
• Level IV - 8 years or more of RN experience.

Job Responsibilities

Essential Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in Massachusetts.
• 12 months to less than 3 years of RN experience.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Department-specific certifications may be required based on the type of patient care provided.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.

Required Qualifications:

• Active RN licensure in Massachusetts in good standing is mandatory.
• BSN is highly preferred.
• Candidates with an Associate’s degree in nursing may be considered, with encouragement to enroll in a BSN program within one year of hire.
• A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in telemetry or intermediate care settings is preferred.
• BLS certification is required.
• ACLS certification is preferred.

Physical Demands:

• Occasional lifting of 30-35 lbs and repositioning of patients.
• Extended periods of standing and walking.
• Occasional twisting, bending, reaching, pushing/pulling, sitting, kneeling, and squatting.
• Exposure to infectious diseases and potential carcinogenic substances.
• Risk of exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
• Fine manual dexterity is required for patient handling.
• Visual and auditory acuity necessary for monitoring patient care.

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong communication skills with patients, families, physicians, and the healthcare team.
• Knowledge and application of the nursing process.

The base pay ranges reflect the minimum qualifications for this role.
