Social Media Coordinator-HSO Digital and Social Media-Mount Sinai Hospital-Hybrid-Full Time-Days

Position Summary:

The Digital and Social Media Coordinator is responsible for executing the Mount Sinai Health System’s social media strategy across key channels—including Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, X, Facebook, and Threads. The successful candidate will work closely with key members of the Social Media Department to translate complex medical and research concepts into clear, compelling social media content. This role will be instrumental in expanding our digital audience and increasing our overall brand presence.

•    Conceptualize, write, and produce daily multi-platform content across primary channels for both the Mount Sinai Health System and the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, translating complex clinical data, medical research breakthroughs, and academic achievements into accessible, engaging public health communications.
•    Produce short-form vertical video content (e.g., Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts) highlighting patient stories, clinical innovations, student/faculty spotlights, and research milestones.
•    Actively monitor brand mentions, patient inquiries, and trending medical/academic discussions to foster positive community engagement while strictly adhering to HIPAA and institutional privacy guidelines.
•    Working with other members of the team, track, analyze, and report on key metrics across both health system and medical school channels to refine overall strategy.
•    Utilize current social media best practices, platform feature updates, and modern workflow/AI tools (e.g., caption generation, asset optimization) to increase execution efficiency without sacrificing accuracy.
•    Partner closely with internal communications, research teams, marketing, and academic departments to align social media campaigns with broader institutional goals.
•    Perform other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelors degree or greater preferred, or combination of applicable experience and education 

Experience Requirements:

• 2-3+ years’ experience in social media marketing required; preferably in social media content production, graphic design, presentation design, and analytics.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills. 
• Knowledge of social media platforms, trends and best practices. 
• Experience with social media management tools and analytic platforms.
• Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, scheduling work assignments. 
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders; client service oriented with ability to partner with stakeholders toward solutions. 

• Collaborative, strong communicator and listener with sensitivity to multiple styles and perspectives; able to build and foster strong relationships with diverse constituencies.
• Ability to work independently, shift gears quickly when needed, and hit tight deadlines while valuing collaboration and working with others to accomplish goals.
• Creative thinker with experience in providing new and different ways to solve for problems and opportunities.

Compensation Statement:

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58,661.00 - $81,675.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
