Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a medical-surgical unit, ensuring safety and quality care delivery. Employ clinical expertise to manage postoperative and acute conditions with a focus on patient recovery.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans based on physician orders and clinical assessments.
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions accurately while monitoring patient responses.
• Operate and manage specialty equipment including IV pumps, NG tubes, and feeding systems.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and facilitate safe discharges.
• Document patient information and clinical activities in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Respond swiftly and effectively to patient emergencies, providing critical interventions as needed.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active NY RN license and all required active licenses.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of recent Med-Surg nursing experience, including travel healthcare.
• Demonstrate proficiency in EMR systems, specifically EPIC.
• Maintain current BLS certification as per AHA standards.
• Have a driver's license with an address matching demographics if driving is required.
• Provide verification of licensure and any required travel experience documentation.
