Gennaros Cafe in the Emsworth area of Pittsburgh, PA is looking for a talented and passionate Sous Chef / Line Cook to join our kitchen team! If you thrive in a fast-paced culinary environment and take pride in crafting delicious food, we want to hear from you. Come be a part of a team that's dedicated to delivering an exceptional dining experience every single day. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and execute menu items consistently and efficiently during service
- Assist Head Chef with kitchen operations, food prep, and line management
- Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and safety standards at all times
- Monitor food quality, portion control, and plate presentation
- Manage mise en place and ensure stations are stocked and organized before each shift
- Support inventory management, food storage, and minimizing waste
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff as needed
- Previous experience as a Line Cook, Sous Chef, or similar kitchen role required
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, knife skills, and kitchen equipment
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment
- Solid understanding of food safety, sanitation, and health code regulations
- ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Reliable, team-oriented, and able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Passion for food quality and a positive, professional attitude
