Job Summary

STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking an Automation Tester on behalf of our client in Ellicott City, MD . The ideal candidate will have strong experience in software test automation and a proven ability to design, develop, and execute automated test scripts. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure software quality, functionality, performance, and reliability throughout the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using tools such as Cypress and Playwright .
Analyze business and technical requirements and create comprehensive test cases, scenarios, and test plans.
Perform automated, manual, regression, and functional testing to identify defects and ensure application quality.
Analyze test results, troubleshoot issues, and document defects with clear steps to reproduce.
Collaborate closely with developers, business stakeholders, and other QA team members throughout the software development lifecycle.
Participate in and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate end-to-end business workflows.
Conduct performance testing and evaluate applications against defined performance criteria and benchmarks.
Maintain accurate documentation of test cases, test plans, test results, and testing procedures.
Identify opportunities to improve automation frameworks, testing processes, and overall QA efficiency.
Stay current with emerging automation tools, testing methodologies, and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant software testing/automation experience .
Proven experience as a Software Automation Tester, QA Automation Engineer, or similar role.
Hands-on experience with automation frameworks and tools such as Cypress, Playwright, and Jenkins .
Experience with JIRA or similar defect and test management tools.
Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language, such as Java or Python .
Strong SQL skills and experience validating data through database testing.
Experience with manual, regression, functional, UAT, and performance testing.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience developing or enhancing automated testing frameworks.
Familiarity with CI/CD practices and integrating automated tests into deployment pipelines.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
Knowledge of modern software quality assurance methodologies and best practices.
