The Observation unit RN will provide care to patients who require close monitoring and short-term care often due to acute conditions that don't necessitate full inpatient admission but do need more than an Emergency Room stay.Job responsibilities:Assessment of patients to monitor for changes in patients' conditionTreatment and medication administrationDocumentation of patient status and response to treatmentEducation of patient and family on treatment plan, discharge instructions and care protocols related to their conditionCoordination of Care with physicians, case managers and other members of the health care team to ensure a safe discharge or full admission to the hospitalRequirements:Graduate of approved school of nursingBSN or working towards a BSN or professional certification within one year of employment preferred.NYS license as a Registered Professional Nurse2 to 5 years of medical-surgical nursing experience in an acute care setting preferredCurrent BLS required, ACLS preferredGood communication skills and skilled in customer serviceReliability and flexibilityDemonstrates the CARES Values at all times.Position Pay Range: $38.00-50.00/hourStarting Pay: Based on experienceThompson Health is an EOE encouraging individuals with disabilities and veterans to apply
