Social Media Assistant - Student Employment

The Social Media Assistant will work in the Office of University Relations to engage varying audiences across multiple social media platforms. Students will gain experience developing and executing social media campaigns. This student employment opportunity supports the development of skills aligned with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Career Readiness Competencies. Through this role, students will strengthen the following competencies: Communication: Students build communication skills by practicing clear, respectful, and professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication in a workplace setting. Professionalism: Students build professionalism by practicing dependability, accountability, confidentiality when applicable, workplace etiquette, and respectful service in a workplace setting. Teamwork: Students build teamwork skills by collaborating with supervisors, staff, and peers to support department goals, assist others, and contribute to a positive work environment. Technology: Students build technology skills by using department systems, software, digital tools, equipment, or university platforms to complete tasks accurately and efficiently. Assist with social media marketing to increase visibility, membership and traffic of our website and social media platforms (i.e. Instagram and TikTok) Attend and promote events via different social media channels Meet once a week with the Content Manager to go over social media plans Create and share content about events and student life and campus news Monitor activity, check and reply to comments as needed on social media Actively create campaigns to follow through the use of hashtags Spend a minimum of one hour in the office each week for research and review
