Touchstone Group is seeking a highly skilled AI Systems Architect / Lead Software Engineer to help design and build a custom AI-powered estimating and operations platform for the construction and real estate industries.

This is an opportunity to help architect and deploy a real-world AI ecosystem that automates estimating, proposal generation, workflow management, operational reporting, and business processes across multiple divisions.

We are looking for a builder — someone who enjoys creating scalable systems, integrating AI into business operations, and solving complex workflow challenges.

This role will initially focus on a project-based buildout of our AI infrastructure, with the opportunity for ongoing long-term consulting and system oversight.

Compensation:

$100 - $150 hourly

Responsibilities:

• Architect and develop an AI-assisted construction estimating system
• Build AI agent workflows and automation systems
• Design integrations between platforms such as Jobber, QuickBooks, Google Workspace, CRM systems, and proposal tools
• Create scalable backend systems and operational infrastructure
• Assist with workflow optimization and operational automation
• Collaborate directly with ownership to identify high-impact automation opportunities
• Recommend and implement technology solutions that improve efficiency and scalability
• Oversee technical direction and future system expansion

Qualifications:

• Strong experience with AI systems, automation, and software architecture
• Experience with OpenAI APIs, LangChain, Python, Node.js, or related technologies
• Experience integrating APIs and SaaS platforms
• Strong understanding of databases, cloud systems, and scalable architecture
• Ability to independently lead technical projects
• Business mindset and strong problem-solving ability
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Bonus if you have experience in construction technology, estimating systems, or operations automation
