Security Agents are responsible for maintaining a safe environment for guests and hosts. The ideal candidate has an eye for detail, excellent problem‑solving skills, and remains calm under stressful situations. Roles & Responsibilities Enforce all park rules and regulations. Monitor park assets to ensure the safety of guests and hosts. Maintain constant vigilance while the park is operating to identify any potential safety issues, communicating them to other departments and leadership promptly. Conduct bag checks to prevent prohibited items from entering the park. Maintain compliance with company and industry best practices, policies, and procedures to create a safe environment for colleagues and guests. Monitor guest safety and communicate conflicts to supervisors on duty. Take control of emergency and intense situations while remaining calm. Professionally manage crowd control during emergency situations. Continuously monitor guest behaviors and attempt to curtail potential situations before they escalates further. Exercise clear and concise communications with all park departments. Answer phone calls, providing pleasant and helpful contact for staff and the public. Assist in safety prevention efforts, including responding to all safety calls, fire alarms, and emergencies. Utilize electronic card access, closed‑circuit television, and other audio/visual monitoring systems, and supervise responses to all reports or irregular conditions, including unauthorized entry of persons or vehicles to protected buildings and areas, breaches of perimeter security, or other suspicious activities on the property. Perform all other duties as assigned by leadership. Education and Experience High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Equivalent work experience will also be considered. 1+ year of previous security or related experience highly desired. Language Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English. Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus. Requirements Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Iowa Child Labor Laws. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to work third shift (overnight) if the park security operates on a 24‑hour schedule. Must have reliable transportation to and from scheduled shifts. Must possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving record. Ability to safely and efficiently operate motorized vehicles and equipment. Ability to comprehend and carry out verbal and written instructions. Ability to apply knowledge of security methods, procedures, interviewing, listening, and note‑taking techniques for specific situations. Ability to deal fairly, objectively, and courteously with the public without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, or political beliefs. Ability to analyze people and/or situations quickly and calmly and take appropriate actions in a quick and effective manner. Ability to operate a variety of electronic equipment, such as cameras, radios, personal computers, or other communication devices. Ability to professionally and calmly deal with stressful and/or tense situations. Ability to collaborate with other hosts, external first responders, and emergency personnel during emergency situations. Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner. Ability to maintain certifications as required by assignment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of the workday. Ability to occasionally stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders. Ability to walk, stand, or run on uphill, downhill, or uneven surfaces. Ability to remain sedentary for extended periods of time while using computer / camera equipment. Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 30 pounds or more. Must have good visual acuity, night vision, and peripheral vision. Ability to see details of objects that are more than a few feet away. Working Conditions This role will be based in both an office setting and frequent exposure to all indoor and outdoor park environments. Frequent exposure to variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions. Exposure to dark environments, particularly during midnight shift. Exposure to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, flashing lights, and heavily populated environments. Exposure to frequent interruptions and requests that may require reprioritization of activities. Team Member Benefits Flexible schedule.
