Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse - Obstetrics

Profession: RN - OB

Specialty: RN - OB

Duration: 8 weeks

Shift: Day shift

Hours per Shift: 36 or 48 hours per week

Experience: Recent experience within the last 3 years in an acute care facility preferred

License: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice required

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification required

Must-Have: Recent experience with EPIC and Cerner

Description:
The individual will deliver coordinated nursing care for patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.


Supervision and direction will be provided to various levels of assigned nursing staff.


Collaboration and coordination of care with other disciplines will be necessary while utilizing critical thinking, professional discretion, and independent judgment.


Essential functions include collecting relevant data pertinent to the patient's health or situation and analyzing assessment data to determine diagnosis and care issues.


A plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes will be developed and implemented.


The individual will coordinate care delivery and employ strategies to promote health and ensure a safe environment.


Progress toward attaining outcomes will be evaluated regularly.


Outcomes for the patient or the patient's situation will be identified.


Collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare providers in providing patient care will be essential to create a safe and humane environment.


Learning opportunities for patients, family members, and team members will be provided.


Health information will be directly offered to patients, families, and treatment teams.


Discharge planning participation will occur to provide continuity of care.


Delegation and coordination of duties of healthcare team members will be required.


Other job-related duties may be assigned as necessary.
