Human Resources and Benefits Manager

LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a growing organization, and they are seeking a motivated Human Resources and Benefits Manager – Manufacturing Environment to join their team. This is an outstanding opportunity for an HR leader who enjoys building structure, improving processes, and serving as a trusted advisor to senior leadership in a multi‑site, multi‑employee environment. This role offers meaningful autonomy and influence, reporting directly into executive leadership. The ideal candidate brings a strong generalist foundation, deep benefits expertise, and the confidence to advise executives on employment law, compliance, and people strategy. The Human Resources Manager will lead and elevate HR operations across corporate, retail, and distribution center environments. This individual will manage a small HR team, act as the primary point of contact for benefits and compliance, and drive forward HR projects that modernize policies, processes, and overall employee experience. Key Responsibilities Serve as a strategic HR partner to executive leadership, providing guidance on employee relations, compliance, and workforce strategy. Lead all aspects of benefits administration, including broker management, open enrollment, vendor communication, invoice reconciliation, and employee education. Manage and mentor a small HR team, overseeing daily workflow, priorities, and professional development. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including multi‑state regulations, FMLA, wage and hour, and workplace safety requirements. Own employee relations matters across diverse employee populations, including hourly/production, corporate professionals, and customer‑facing retail employees. Update, maintain, and enforce HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook. Drive HR process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, consistency, and scalability. Lead key HR projects such as handbook updates, open enrollment, performance review cycles, safety committee leadership, and HR audits. Partner closely with leaders to de‑escalate employee issues and provide sound recommendations. Manage HR reporting and metrics, leveraging Excel and HRIS data to support leadership decision‑making. Maintain HR documentation, records, and process workflows within the HRIS. Qualifications and Skills Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field. 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2+ years in an HR Manager or people leadership role. Experience working in a small to mid‑sized organization, managing a lean HR team (1–2 direct reports). Demonstrated comfort reporting into executive leadership outside of HR. Strong, hands‑on benefits experience, including direct ownership of benefits administration and broker relationships. Working knowledge of FMLA administration, leave tracking, and benefits invoice reconciliation. Multi‑state HR experience with a solid understanding of employment law and compliance requirements. Proven ability to elevate HR processes, policies, and infrastructure. Experience supporting diverse employee populations across operations, corporate, and retail environments. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate varying personalities and maintain a calm, professional approach. Proficiency with HRIS platforms (Paylocity strongly preferred) and Excel‑based reporting.
