Compliance Officer

Employment Type: Contract
Assignment Duration: Approximately 11 week

Professional office environment with business casual dress.

We are seeking an experienced Compliance Officer to review constituent complaints, interpret applicable state statutes, determine whether complaints fall within the appropriate jurisdiction, communicate findings to complainants, and accurately document and close cases.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, strong customer-service abilities, and the ability to read and interpret state statutes.

• Contact constituents and complainants to discuss the details of complaints that have been filed.

• Review complaints and applicable state statutes to analyze and determine the issues involved.

• Communicate professionally with members of the public and provide excellent customer service.

• Advise complainants regarding jurisdiction and explain when a case is being closed and the reason for closure.

• Provide appropriate resources or referrals to complainants when applicable.

• Prepare written correspondence to complainants after obtaining the required supervisor approval.

• Close cases by entering the appropriate codes, activities, and statutes in the designated case-management system.

• Document actions and case-related activities in the designated document-management system.

• Maintain accurate and complete case documentation.

• Follow established procedures, timelines, and organizational requirements.

• Ability to communicate appropriately and professionally, both verbally and in writing .

• Ability to read and interpret state statutes .

• Previous experience working with the public in a professional work environment.

• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.

• Strong customer-service and interpersonal skills.

• Excellent attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple cases or assignments while maintaining accuracy.

• Ability to commit to and meet the project timeline.

• Ability to work effectively in a professional office environment.

• Previous experience in compliance, regulatory, legal, administrative, or government environments.

• Experience reviewing complaints or regulatory matters.

• Experience working with case-management or document-management systems.

• Experience with systems such as Versa and OnBase is a plus.

• Familiarity with state government processes and regulations is preferred.

The ideal candidate is a highly organized and professional individual who is comfortable communicating with the public, reviewing regulatory information, interpreting statutes, documenting case activity, and making appropriate case determinations within established guidelines.
