ABOUT THE JOB

Provide patient-centered primary care, to employees at assigned Marathon Health Centers through Employer-Sponsored Direct Primary Care. The Health Center Medical Director provides clinical direction to health center clinical staff for a particular client, ensuring a highly functioning team focused on quality of care and exceptional service to our patients. The Health Center Medical Director will set the cultural tone, establishing a highly professional, dedicated Health Center team.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides and manages direct patient care to employees at specific Marathon Health clinic locations, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses and treatment for a specified patient population. Completes physical/history screening/wellness exams, inspects and records medical histories, and records diagnosis results. Counsel patients on diet, hygiene, and preventive healthcare.
• Performs medical services and emergency treatment to patients as needed. Makes referrals to other specialists and/or emergency services and recommends transport to emergency room treatment facilities as necessary.
• Updates patient's immunizations and prescribes, dispenses, or refills medications, as needed.
• Prescribe treatment regimens beyond pharmaceuticals as appropriate to assessed medical conditions. Make referrals to nurse practitioners/physical assistants, health coaches, etc., for comprehensive health coaching as recommended. Perform health coaching in the absence of these resources in the assigned clinic.
• Contribute to the design and management of health center programs and policies.
• Administrate as a clinical team leader. Provide collaboration and medical advice/guidance and oversee other MH medical staff in clinic (i.e., MA, LPN, RN, NP/PA).
• Actively collaborate with at least two or more Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) within the organization.
• Comply with state medical and nursing regulatory boards through signed protocols and procedures. Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
• Review and audit clinical charts for quality assurance and regulatory compliances. Ensures confidentiality and handling procedures are followed for medical charts and files.
• Approve and sign standing orders for licensed nurses and medical assistants.
• Oversee medical equipment, medical and clinical supplies inventory. Performs frequent audits to ensure equipment is operational and supplies are sufficient in inventory, storage, and expiration dates are satisfactory according to guidelines.
• May perform Occupational Health screenings/appointments and provide medical care for workplace injuries and illnesses (health center dependent).
• Order lab tests and collect specimens, ensuring proper storage and labeling protocol.
• Participation in company educational and public health programs, workshops, center promotions and special events.
• Serve as medical liaison to community and communicate on behalf of Marathon Health's best interest with the highest level of quality and care.
• Fosters communication and teamwork by maintaining a positive, cooperative, productive work environment within a diverse population and with those from various occupational and cultural backgrounds.

QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from an accredited medical school and completion of residency with professional experience in 1) Family Practice or 2) Internal Medicine + Pediatric. Board certification or eligibility and intent to certify required; Active state license required; DEA preferred. CPR/BLS certification required at time of start date. Per state regulations, may be required to have a dispensing license.

Pay Range: $250,000 - $280,000

The actual offer may vary dependent upon geographic location and the candidate's years of experience and/or skill level. This position is also eligible for an annual incentive.
