Senior Research Scientist, High Content Imaging

Pfizer seeks a Senior Research Scientist to develop and optimize high-content imaging and flow cytometry assays supporting small-molecule drug discovery. The role involves assay design, image analysis, instrumentation management, and mechanistic studies across multiple therapeutic areas within the Discovery Biology and Pharmacology group at the Groton campus.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize high-content imaging and flow cytometry assays independently
- Create advanced image-analysis workflows and algorithms to support screening and data processing
- Execute screening campaigns and mechanism-of-action studies using imaging technologies
- Support imaging instrumentation management and implement software solutions for improved workflows
- Collaborate with high-throughput screening teams to leverage automated imaging systems
Requirements
- PhD in molecular biology, pharmacology, cell biology, biomedical engineering, or related discipline
- 2+ years hands-on experience with fluorescence or confocal microscopy in biological research
- Demonstrated expertise developing and troubleshooting high-content imaging assays
- Strong proficiency with image-analysis software and quantitative data-analysis approaches
- Experience with computational workflows, scripting, or programming for algorithm development
- Ability to rapidly learn new imaging technologies and adapt to emerging project needs
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Compensation: $93,600–$156,000 base salary, plus 12.5% bonus target and long-term incentives
