Senior Materials Scientist

Eurofins seeks a Materials Scientist to develop solid-form strategies for complex pharmaceutical molecules, including PROTACs and molecular glues. The role involves advanced characterization, crystallization techniques, and cross-functional collaboration in Groton, Connecticut.

Responsibilities

• Conduct advanced solid-state characterization of beyond Rule-of-5 pharmaceutical molecules
• Apply novel crystallization techniques for recrystallization and polymorph screening
• Collaborate with medicinal chemistry and formulation teams on screening strategies
• Develop and implement solid-form selection approaches for clinical development
• Maintain accurate electronic laboratory notebook entries and contribute new scientific approaches

Requirements

• Master's degree with 2+ years of pharmaceutical materials science experience
• Expertise in solid-state characterization techniques (XRPD, PLM, DSC, TGA, spectroscopy)
• Experience with infrared spectroscopy (FTIR, NIR, FT-Raman) and/or solid-state NMR
• Knowledge of amorphous solid dispersion formulation strategies
• Understanding of physical, analytical, and organic chemistry principles
• Experience solving materials science problems with large molecules
• Mathematical modeling experience and strong data analysis skills
