Senior Spectroscopy Scientist (NMR)

Eurofins seeks a Senior Solid State NMR Scientist to support pharmaceutical materials characterization in Groton, CT. The role involves collecting and interpreting ssNMR data, applying quantitative methods to measure API and drug product components, and collaborating with Materials Science colleagues on characterization strategies.

Responsibilities

• Collect and interpret ssNMR data for crystalline and non-crystalline pharmaceutical materials
• Apply quantitative ssNMR methods to measure API and drug product components
• Plan and execute experiments with minimal supervision
• Collaborate with Materials Science colleagues to develop characterization strategies
• Maintain contemporaneous and accurate electronic laboratory notebook entries

Requirements

• Ph.D. in chemistry or equivalent field with ssNMR expertise, OR B.A./M.S. in pharmaceutical science/chemistry with 2-3+ years ssNMR experience
• Proficiency in ssNMR sample preparation, data acquisition, and 1D/2D spectra interpretation
• Understanding of physical, analytical, and organic chemistry fundamentals
• Strong data analysis, interpretation, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational abilities, independent work capability, and communication skills
• Experience with solid-state characterization techniques (XRPD, PLM, DSC, TGA) preferred
• Knowledge of vibrational spectroscopy (FTIR, NIR, FT-Raman) advantageous
