Mechanical Packaging Associate

Position Summary As a Mechanical Packaging Associate, you’ll provide technical assistance in packaging processes, contribute to large, complex projects, and travel 50-60% of the time. Design and develop packaging systems to ensure reliability and innovation that meet operational objectives with a direct impact on department results. Conduct feasibility studies and analyze package performance through testing and simulations. Collaborate with R&D, production, and marketing teams to align packaging designs with product specifications and branding requirements. Evaluate packaging materials and processes, emphasizing sustainability and operational efficiency, including life cycle assessments. Implement cost‑reduction initiatives by assessing existing packaging designs and identifying opportunities for enhancements. Provide technical support and troubleshoot packaging machinery and processes within manufacturing facilities, influencing internal contacts through clear communication of facts, policies, and practices. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering, packaging engineering or a related field. At least six months of mechanical packaging experience or a relevant internship in pet food, CPG, manufacturing, or industrial environments. OR High school diploma or GED. At least four years of mechanical packaging experience or a relevant internship in pet food, CPG, manufacturing, or industrial environments. Must be able to travel 50-60% of the time. The approximate pay range for this position is $61,000.00 – $85,000.00. Final compensation may vary based on factors including knowledge, skills and abilities and geographic location.
