Litigation AssociateDirect Counsel is seeking a Litigation Associate with 2–3 years of experience to join a growing and dynamic litigation practice in San Diego. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney looking to gain hands-on litigation experience, work closely with experienced litigators, and take on meaningful responsibility early in their career.The ideal candidate will possess strong research, writing, and analytical skills and be comfortable supporting all phases of civil litigation, from case assessment through trial preparation.ResponsibilitiesSupport partners and senior attorneys throughout all stages of civil litigationAssist with case assessment, discovery, motion practice, mediation, and trial preparationConduct legal research and prepare memoranda on substantive legal issuesDraft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation-related filingsManage case deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules and procedural requirementsParticipate in client interviews, witness preparation, depositions, mediations, and trial preparationCollaborate closely with litigation teams on case strategy and client serviceQualifications2–3 years of civil litigation experienceExcellent legal research, writing, and analytical skillsStrong organizational and case management abilitiesAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environmentDesire to take on increasing responsibility and direct client interactionCalifornia Bar admission requiredCompensation & BenefitsBase salary range: $150,000 – $170,000Annual performance-based and billable hours bonusesMainly Remote – Must reside in California!Reasonable billable hour expectationsCompetitive health insurance benefits and 401(k) with partial matchStrong mentorship and long-term career development opportunitiesThis opportunity offers sophisticated litigation experience, meaningful client exposure, and the ability to work alongside accomplished attorneys in a collaborative and supportive environment.Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply through Direct Counsel.
