About This Opportunity

CTI Staffing is partnering with a leading financial services organization to find a Data Conversion Systems Analyst for their retirement/defined contribution conversion team based in Smithfield, RI.

This team is responsible for onboarding incoming retirement plan data - taking external records from new plan sponsors and accurately mapping them into the organization's internal systems. It's detail-intensive, high-accountability work that sits at the intersection of data analysis and the retirement/investment domain, partnering closely with on-shore and off-shore development teams to deliver conversions on time and on budget.

What You'll Do

• Receive inbound external data records and create the technical conversion specifications that map them to internal system formats
• Serve as the primary liaison and advocate for on-shore and off-shore developers throughout each conversion
• Contribute technical detail to conversion strategy documents that augment business requirements
• Support the accurate creation, validation, and loading of data into production systems
• Provide systems support and mentorship to the broader project team
• Manage multiple concurrent conversion projects against timeline and budget goals
• Troubleshoot data feeds and resolve conversion issues end to end
• Own the quality and accuracy of your deliverables under senior mentorship

Requirements

What You Bring

Must-Have:

• 3+ years demonstrable experience with data conversion implementation - analysis, design, mapping, problem resolution, and planning
• Hands-on experience building data mapping specifications between external sources and a target system
• Background in Financial Services, Banking, 401(k), Defined Contribution, Mixed Election, or Retirement funds
• Specialist-level Microsoft Excel, with a solid grasp of Word and Access
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills across multi-source data feeds
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with full accountability for deliverables

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience with data transmission protocols (SFTP, TSO, etc.)
• Solid grasp of the investment industry
• SQL and relational database experience
• Experience with EDI transaction sets (e.g., ANSI X12 834) and file formats (flat file, CSV, fixed width)
• Bachelor's degree

Technical Environment:

• Microsoft Excel, Word, Access
• SQL / relational databases
• Data transmission protocols (SFTP, TSO)
• Conversion mapping and data-comparison tooling

What Success Looks Like:

• Running multiple concurrent conversions independently within the first 3-6 months
• Producing clean, accurate mapping specs that load right the first time
• Becoming a trusted liaison between business and on/off-shore development teams
