Junior Field Engineer — JEX Technologies Corporation Mining Services & Field Operations

Summary A Junior Field Engineer at JEX Technologies supports day‐to‐day technical operations across mining and industrial project sites. This role blends hands‐on fieldwork with engineering fundamentals, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant execution of maintenance, construction, and operational activities. You’ll work closely with field technicians, maintenance trades, project managers, and safety personnel to deliver reliable technical support in dynamic environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with field engineering tasks including equipment setup, inspections, troubleshooting, and operational support across mining and industrial sites.
• Support project managers with planning, coordinating, and documenting field activities, ensuring alignment with project specifications and timelines.
• Conduct routine site assessments to identify hazards, verify compliance with MSHA/OSHA requirements, and support JEX safety initiatives.
• Collect, analyze, and report field data (equipment performance, environmental conditions, production metrics).
• Assist in drafting field reports, technical documentation, and updates for internal teams and clients.
• Collaborate with maintenance trades to diagnose mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues and support corrective actions.
• Participate in equipment commissioning, testing, and verification procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of site access, equipment usage, and operational logs.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to field operations, safety, and engineering workflows.
• Uphold JEX Technologies’ standards for safety, professionalism, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

Required:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mining, Industrial, or related field) or equivalent technical experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to work in field environments (mining, industrial, remote sites).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
• Proficiency with basic engineering tools, measurement instruments, and diagnostic equipment.
• Solid communication skills for working with field techs, trades, and project managers.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.

Preferred:

• Exposure to mining operations or heavy industrial environments.
• Familiarity with MSHA regulations, safety-sensitive work environments, or field safety programs.
• Experience supporting maintenance teams or hands-on technical troubleshooting.
• Basic understanding of project management workflows.

Work Environment

• Field-based role with regular travel to mining and industrial sites.
• Requires use of PPE, adherence to safety protocols, and comfort working outdoors and around heavy equipment.
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams including field technicians, maintenance trades, project managers, and safety professionals.
