Dispatcher

Newaygo County Dispatchers serve as the first point of contact for community members seeking assistance for emergency and service request calls. While the ideal candidate will have some knowledge and/or prior experience in emergency dispatching, a 14-week training program will be provided. Dispatches calls for service via radio and telephone to law enforcement, fire departments, EMS, and other applicable agencies. Monitors, tracks, and documents calls for service in the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system. Enters warrants and other court documents into the Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN) system for five law enforcement agencies, accurately and completely. Participates in training as assigned to meet required standards. Performs in accordance with policies and procedures. Education: High School Diploma or GED Experience: Emergency Services Dispatcher and/or LEIN certification preferred Other: Ability to remain calm under extreme stress Ability to speak clearly and concisely Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Must not have any felony convictions All offers of employment are contingent upon passing a background check and drug screening, which includes marijuana. #J-18808-Ljbffr Newaygo County Careers
