VP of Telecom Operations

GridSource is seeking a Vice President of Telecom Operations in Charlotte, NC or surrounding areas. The Vice President of Telecom Operations (VP) – will lead the launch and rapid scale of telecommunications construction operations across North and South Carolina. This is a greenfield leadership role responsible for building the market from early‑stage operations into a high‑performing, scaled business. Reporting to the EVP of Construction, this leader will establish operational infrastructure, hire and develop teams, and drive execution during a critical growth phase. Key Responsibilities Market Launch & Build‑Out Lead the launch of North Carolina operations (target ~June 15) Build operational infrastructure, processes, and field execution standards from the ground up Scale operations from early‑stage (~20 employees) to ~100+ Operational Leadership Oversee all construction activities including micro‑trenching, underground, and aerial fiber builds Drive production ramp and ensure readiness to meet aggressive growth timelines Establish scheduling, workforce planning, and resource allocation strategies Team Development Recruit, build, and lead high‑performing field and leadership teams Establish strong regional leadership structure across North and South Carolina Drive a culture of accountability, safety, and execution Financial Performance Own P&L for the Carolinas market Implement KPI tracking and performance metrics early in the build cycle Manage cost structures during rapid scale Strategic Execution Partner with EVP on market expansion strategy and long‑term growth planning Align operational capabilities with client demand and contract requirements Safety & Compliance Establish and enforce strong safety culture from day one Ensure compliance with all regulatory and operational standards Client & Stakeholder Management Build and maintain relationships with clients, municipalities, and partners Represent the company in key meetings and market‑facing activities Qualifications Leadership experience in telecom construction or infrastructure Required experience with micro‑trenching and traditional telecom construction methods Proven ability to build and scale operations from the ground up Experience leading high‑growth or startup‑style market expansions strongly preferred Strong financial and operational leadership skills Market Overview Current headcount: ~20 Expected growth: ~100+ in near term New market with aggressive ramp and expansion across NC and SC Travel Approximately 25–40% travel across North and South Carolina Compensation & Benefits Base Salary: ~$200,000 Performance‑based bonus incentives Health, dental, vision insurance 401(k) Paid time off and holidays GridSource is a proud supporter of our U.S. military, veterans, and their families.
