Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year required License: Pending licenses accepted Certifications: BLS ACLS NRP Must-Have: Experience in a large Labor and Delivery unit Experience with 3s/4s in postpartum, baby nurse, and meconium deliveries Description: Registered Nurses will work in the Labor and Delivery specialty. Candidates must possess a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience. The focus will be on providing care for patients in labor, delivery, and postpartum. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2. Candidates must have experience circulating and performing fetal heart monitoring. Floating to antepartum and postpartum areas may be required to meet facility needs. No specific weekend requirements are stated for traveling staff. Managing the schedule may be challenging. Special skills required include cerclage, version, C/S, and medical assistance for deliveries. Experience with neonatal palliative care, nitrous use, and massive transfusion protocols is needed. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in recognizing and treating abnormal fetal heart rate patterns. The unit operates with a focus on interdisciplinary support, including physical therapy and respiratory services. Candidates must adhere to unit policies and protocols while maintaining a high level of patient care.
