We are looking for a Trust Officer - Settlement to support a fiduciary services team in Milwaukee, Wisconsin within the Financial Services industry. This Contract to permanent opportunity and centers on managing settlement-related trust relationships with care, accuracy, and sound judgment. The person in this role will work closely with beneficiaries, families, attorneys, and other key partners to oversee trust administration, protect benefit eligibility, and ensure each account is handled in accordance with legal and fiduciary obligations.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a portfolio of settlement, special needs, directed, and court-supervised trusts, ensuring each account is administered according to governing documents and applicable regulations.

• Advise beneficiaries and their support networks on distributions, trust processes, and planning considerations tied to major life events and ongoing care needs.

• Review account activity, identify potential compliance or fiduciary concerns, and take proactive steps to address issues before they escalate.

• Partner with attorneys, tax professionals, financial advisors, guardians, and care teams to coordinate trust-related matters and support effective case management.

• Prepare and maintain detailed records of trust actions, client communications, and fiduciary decisions to support accurate administration and audit readiness.

• Explain complex trust and benefit topics in a clear, respectful manner while delivering a high standard of service to beneficiaries and families.

• Support preservation of public benefit eligibility by applying knowledge of Medicaid, Social Security, and other means-tested programs when evaluating distributions and trust activity.

• Use trust accounting platforms, case management tools, and Microsoft Office applications to track activity, maintain documentation, and complete administrative tasks accurately.

• Bachelor’s degree or a comparable combination of education and relevant experience.
• Background in trust administration, fiduciary services, estate administration, settlement planning, probate, wealth management, or a closely related area.
• Knowledge of government benefit programs such as Medicaid, Social Security, and other public assistance resources that affect beneficiary planning.
• Understanding of fiduciary duties, trust operations, and financial compliance requirements within a regulated environment.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, families, and business partners.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain organized records, and meet deadlines with careful attention to detail.
• Sound judgment, discretion, and a client-focused approach when handling sensitive financial and personal matters.
