Job Description The UW Medicine - Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology (DLMP) offers a Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) 2 position with the Ambulatory Lab Services Team at Eastside Specialty Center in Bellevue, WA. This role provides direct patient care, performing pre‑analytic procedures such as phlebotomy, specimen processing, and rapid point‑of‑care tests. Responsibility includes: Perform stat and routine tests using kit assays and point‑of‑care devices, enter results into the Laboratory Information System (LIS). Conduct quality control analyses and ensure test parameters remain within established ranges. Monitor test systems, troubleshoot issues, and consult manufacturer’s manuals, division procedures, and MLS. Provide customer service and handle telephone inquiries from staff and providers. Perform phlebotomy on adult and pediatric patients and prioritize specimen handling based on type and urgency. Prepare and process specimens for transport and testing, storing them under optimal temperature conditions. Demonstrate working knowledge of LIS (Sunquest and EPIC), generate batch lists, pending logs, and exception reports. Participate in training, demonstrating routine laboratory techniques to students and new employees. Monitor laboratory inventory, notify the lead of needed supplies, and place orders when assigned. Represent DLMP and UW Medicine in promoting the mission, values, and service excellence. Qualifications High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of chemical, clinical, or public health laboratory experience. Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when legal requirements exist. Medical Assistant – Phlebotomist (MA-P) certification with the Washington State Department of Health, or obtain the certification within 180 days of the start date.
