Job Description
Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Job Description The primary responsibility of the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is to provide direct physical therapy interventions as planned, delegated, and supervised by a licensed Physical Therapist. In this role, you will be entrusted with ensuring the highest degree of quality care for residents at all times. Responsibilities
- Evaluate, plan, and administer treatment to residents and patients with temporary or long-term disabilities to relieve pain, restore or improve function, and promote healing.
- Ensure all treatment is delivered according to an established plan of care.
- Provide clinical support and instruction to patients, families, and caregivers.
- Monitor patient responses to treatment interventions.
- Complete required forms and documentation in accordance with company policy and state/federal regulations.
- Associate degree from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program.
- Certification from the National Physical Therapy Exam (NPTE) for PTAs, administered by the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT).
- Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions from a licensed Physical Therapist.
- Empathy and patience when working with patients.
- Physical stamina to assist patients with movement and exercises.
- Active BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Current or prior discipline on professional licenses or certifications must be disclosed.
- A criminal background check will be required.
- Verification of professional license or certification must be completed prior to start.
- Ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
- Assessing and adapting treatment plans based on patient needs and responses.
- Fostering a collaborative environment among healthcare team members.
