Senior Salesforce Developer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Salesforce Developer to support and modernize large-scale Salesforce environments. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Salesforce development, application support, integrations, security, DevOps, and platform optimization.

This role will work across Salesforce development, maintenance, enterprise integrations, security and governance, environment management, technical documentation, and knowledge transfer.

Key Responsibilities Salesforce Application Support & Maintenance

• Provide expert troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and resolution of Salesforce platform issues.

• Support Salesforce Core, Experience Cloud, integrations, custom components , and related applications.

• Monitor jobs, logs, APIs, errors, governor limits, and system performance.

• Develop and maintain runbooks, SOPs, data dictionaries, workflow inventories, configuration documentation, and operational procedures.

• Perform proactive maintenance, refactoring, performance tuning, technical debt reduction, and security remediation.

Development & Modernization

• Design and implement Salesforce features using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, SOQL/SOSL , and advanced Salesforce configuration.

• Translate complex business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.

• Lead code reviews and enforce secure coding and development standards.

• Maintain high test coverage and follow Salesforce development best practices.

• Manage releases across Dev, QA, UAT, Staging, and Production environments.

• Support CI/CD pipelines and version-control processes.

Integration & Interoperability

• Design, develop, support, and optimize API-based Salesforce integrations.

• Work with MuleSoft or similar middleware/integration platforms .

• Support secure and reliable data exchange between Salesforce and external enterprise systems.

• Monitor API health, throughput, rate limits, and integration errors.

• Implement appropriate resilience strategies such as retries, queueing, and payload optimization.

• Maintain integration mappings, interface specifications, and versioning documentation.

Security & Governance

• Implement and maintain Salesforce security and access controls.

• Support Field Audit Trail, Event Monitoring, Platform Encryption, MFA, least-privilege access , and auditing capabilities.

• Support cybersecurity, identity governance, secure SDLC, and compliance requirements.

• Participate in security reviews, vulnerability remediation, and technical architecture assessments.

• Ensure appropriate data access, logging, encryption, and change-control practices.

Enterprise Platform Operations

• Manage Salesforce sandbox strategy, refresh schedules, and environment alignment.

• Implement monitoring, alerting, observability dashboards, and performance analytics.

• Support backup, restore, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.

• Conduct platform health reviews and recommend improvements for stability, scalability, security, and performance.

Training & Knowledge Transfer

• Develop training and knowledge-transfer materials for technical and administrative teams.

• Create architecture diagrams, workflow maps, deployment guides, operational procedures, and technical standards.

• Mentor internal technical staff on Salesforce administration, development, configuration, and troubleshooting.

• Support transition of platform ownership and ongoing enhancement responsibilities.

Licensing & Platform Optimization

• Maintain strong knowledge of Salesforce licensing models, Experience Cloud licensing, API usage entitlements, feature tiers, and associated cost considerations.

• Review license assignments and recommend adjustments based on user roles and platform requirements.

• Forecast licensing requirements based on user growth, new functionality, and future integrations.

• Identify opportunities to optimize Salesforce platform cost and functionality.

Required Qualifications

• 11+ years of professional experience in enterprise application development.

• 7+ years of dedicated Salesforce experience.

• 5+ years of hands-on expertise with Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, SOQL/SOSL , and advanced Salesforce configuration.

• 5+ years supporting large and complex Salesforce environments with strict SLAs and high security requirements.

• 5+ years of experience with API design, integration patterns, middleware, and enterprise data exchange.

• 3+ years of experience with security hardening, identity governance, encryption strategies, and auditability.

• 3+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, environment promotion, and DevOps practices.

• 3+ years creating architecture diagrams, technical design documents, process flows, and operational documentation.

• 3+ years of experience with Salesforce licensing models and platform optimization strategies.

• Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to train and mentor technical teams.

• Experience working in public-sector, regulated, or compliance-driven environments.

• Experience with observability tools and error-monitoring platforms.

• Experience with secure cloud integration patterns.
