American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and an active MI RN license. Assignment Overview Posted 2+ weeks ago Shift: Rotating, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: ASAP Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Actual start date is typically 3-4 weeks from time the offer is received. Start dates are determined based on facility needs and credentialing requirements. Details Work in a 5-bed ICU with 2 IMC beds in the hallway within an acute care Trauma Level 4 hospital setting Nurse to patient ratios of 2:1 in ICU and 3:1 in IMC depending on acuity Common diagnoses include respiratory failure, septic shock, detox, DKA, A-fib, and arrhythmias requiring pacing with a strong focus on vent management No pulmonology, dialysis, or cardiac surgery patients on this unit RNs are required to titrate drips including Levophed, propofol, cardizem, esmolol, and insulin Charge nurse takes a full patient assignment No nurse aides on this unit Hospitalist or intensivist in-house until 6pm daily, with ICU Tele Physician coverage overnight Respiratory Therapy is available 24/7 but not housed in the ICU; RNs must be comfortable troubleshooting vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and heated high flow equipment Tele/monitor techs on-site from 0700-1900 daily; RNs verify their own strips and are trained to monitor Med/Surg strips as well Uses Cerner EMR, which is transitioning to Epic Shift schedule is 12-hour shifts rotating days and nights (0700-1900 and 1900-0700) Weekend rotation required including every other weekend, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Holiday coverage required for 2 of 3 major holidays On-call/standby opportunities may be required Floating to Med/Surg required, with potential ratios of 1:3-6 Requirements Active MI RN license required Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required Must be comfortable floating to Med/Surg Telemetry Critical Access or Trauma Level 3/4 experience preferred, or experience in a rural hospital setting Comfortable working with limited onsite resources (no dedicated IV team, RT covers entire hospital) Cerner EMR experience preferred as facility transitions to Epic Additional Information Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced ICU setting with vent management as a core skill Assist with troubleshooting respiratory equipment including vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and heated high flow devices Verify own telemetry strips and monitor Med/Surg unit strips as needed, with training provided Unit and department-specific orientation includes an 8-hour computer education day, a 12-hour shadow shift, and independent work by day three Self-scheduling is accommodated when possible, though shift blocking cannot be guaranteed Dress code requires solid, professional-colored scrubs with no specific color requirement All clinicians must clock in and out at the facility Candidates who previously worked for the facility as permanent staff must have an end date at least 6 months prior to consideration Pay Overview $2,398/wk Assignment Total (13 Weeks) $31,174 Annual Equivalent (52 Weeks) $124,696 Weekly Breakdown Weekly Wages $1,152/wk Regular Hours $32.00 x 36 hours/wk = $1,152 Weekly Stipends $1,246/wk Lodging $110.00 x 7 days = $770 Meals & Incidentals $68.00 x 7 days = $476 $2,398/wk In compliance with state pay transparency laws, we disclose that the estimated weekly pay range for this role is $2,158 - $2,398.
